Storage

For many people their percussion kit is an apple of their eye . They try to take care of it and properly conserve.
Storage
Drums should be stored in warm air conditioned rooms where there is no moisture, no fungus and there is adequate ventilation. If you do not have the ability to hold the drum in a room described as above, you should try to ventilate the room occasionally, and even move the drums somewhere else.
The effects of bad hardware storage
DrumSaving your equipment in bad conditions can lead to distune your drum. Distuning is a common occurrence and usually occurs when the drums are stored at fairly low temperatures. Another factor that show us improper storage of drums is the appearance of patina on cymbals. On Tripods, rims, and other chrome parts may often show corrosion. If there is too much moisture in the room, the body may become delaminated in extreme cases, so it is important that there is no moisture in the room. Often at first sight the condition of the body may seem fine, but after whipping off the tensions it may turn out that there is some discoloration on the wood and the drum unpleasant smell.
Transport
Many people are wondering how to provide secure transport of their equipment. An important issue is whether the drums is only transported or other instruments of the other members of the band are too transported. The more equipment, the more crush is. It is worth to buy some good covers, the choice of which is quite good.
Soft covers
Soft cushions are not recommended, when we often transport equipment and overtake long distances. The downsides of such cases are that they are not stiffened and are therefore generally made of non-thick material which less protects the drum bodies. Soft covers are often not watertight and can pass water in.

Rigid cases are much better than soft covers. They provide better protection through thicker material. They are fully stiffened, which also contributes to comfort when packaging drums - they are faster and handier. They also isolated from the negative outside factors thanks to thicker walls and are fully waterproof, where soft waterproof cases are not always protected.
Hardcase
Hardcase It's already fully professional drum protection. This is much more fun than a cover, but it is guaranteed that such a hardcase will serve really long years. They are fully insulated from negative factors, are equipped with special handles to carry and there is no fear that the material may break because the hardcase is made of other materials.
Hardware bag
The hardware bag is a good solution when the tripods do not weigh too much and do not have a large amount of them, nor do they go to frequent long distances. The percussion hardware is heavy so is more affected on the fraying of the material and is less handy.

Case for tripods
This is a very good solution when you travel a lot and these are long journeys. Case provides secure transport. Moving is more comfortable because the cases are often fitted with wheels.
Summary
Proper storage of equipment should not be a big problem. Even if the room does not meet certain conditions, it is worth to periodically move the equipment to another room and properly ventilate the first. In terms of transport you have to answer yourself whether the whole will be transported occasionally or more often or continuously. In occasional transport with a low budget, soft covers can be purchased. With more frequent transportation, it is better to invest in stiffened cases, and when you are practically on the road all the time, it is a good idea to take a little longer and buy a decent hardcase that will serve really long years.
